The National Council of Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, under the chairmanship of Prof. A. A. Bello has announced the changing of institution’s official Logo and Calligraphy  to a new one which is hereby displayed. All Chapters of the Institution have been notified of this development and enjoyed to begin using the approved logo and calligraphy in their official engagements and activities immediately.

The effort is in line with the streamlining the operation of the institution all over the country. It was observed there were in fact two logos in use by the Divisions both of which were approved at one time or the other. The need to ensure uniformity as well as rebranding of the institution becomes imperative as the institution advances further in its determination to serve the teaming members across the country.

It would be recall that the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers was established in December 2002 at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Mechanical Engineering Division of the NSE in Port Harcourt, where it was unanimously agreed that the mechanical division of the NSE be transformed into The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers under the able leadership of Engr. (Chief) Akintunde S. Zedomi, FNSE, FNIMechE and other elected officials to ensure the take-off to smooth running of the Institution.  The Institution has full standing authority as derived from the Articles of Association of The Nigerian Society of Engineers and is not a parallel body to the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
Vision : “To propagate the effective practice of Mechanical Engineering within Nigeria and ensure its entrenchment in our body polity.”
