On Saturday 13th 2016, The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Division of Nigerian Society of Engineers would be inaugurating its 12th National Chairman, Engr N.P. Ugochukwu Nzurumike, FNSE, FNIMechE, at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun-Warri. He would be taking over officially from Engr Professor Adisa Ademola Bello, FNSE, FNIMechE who served the Institution meritoriously in the last two years.
Engr Nzurumike is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Minna. He started his membership of NSE from Warri Branch in 1989 before proceeding to become one of the founding members of NSE Minna Branch.
UPN (as he is fondly called by some Admirers) was the LOC Chairman for the NIMechE National Conference tagged "WARRI 2008". He has served as the General Secretary, Vice Chairman and Chapter Chairman of Warri Chapter of NIMechE. He was also elected as the Vice Chairman and eventually the Chairman of the Warri Branch of the NSE.
In 2009, he was elected as the National General Secretary of NIMechE at the AGM which was hosted by the Osun State Chapter of the Institution in Osogbo and later got elected as the National Deputy Chairman of both the Automotive Engineers Institute and Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 2013.
He was faced with the possibility of holding two National Chairman positions at the same time in the same Society, he relinquished the Deputy position at Automotive Engineers Institute in 2014 to allow him well positioned as the Deputy National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers NSE, Fellow of the Automotive Engineers Institute AutoEI, Fellow of The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers NIMechE and a Member of the Institute of Appraisal and Cost Engineers. He is also a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME and Society of Computational Mechanics and Tribological Society. He presently works with Pasch Nigeria Limited, Warri, Delta State.
He is passionate and consistent. He is full of Professional knowledge and experience. Like his Distinguished Predecessors, we are sure he will lead the Institution further to become the avenue for true professional development of its Members as well as the technological development of the Country.
