The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ilorin Branch is inviting the general public to the Investiture of its 19th Branch Chairman, Engr Adebayo Joseph Sunday on April 29th 2017 at Branch Engineering Centre, No 1, Engineering Close, Off University of Ilorin Road, Tanke, Ilorin.
An Investiture Lecture titled "Professionalism, Accountability and Transparency: Panacea for Nigeria's Development" would be delivered by Alh. Suleiman Ishola, FCS, FCTI, Accountant-General of Kwara State. The event which will be chaired by the NSE President, Engr Otis Anyaeji FNSE, would be hosted by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alh. Abdul Fatah Ahmed with other personalities from across the country from diverse professional practitioners are expected in attendance.

WHO IS ENGR ADEBAYO JOSEPH SUNDAY?
Engr. Adebayo, Joseph Sunday was born about five decades ago on the 21st January to the family of Late Mathew A. Adebayo and Mrs. Felicia A. Adebayo from Osi in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara.
He had his Primary Education and Secondary Education at St. Bridigs LSMB School, Osi and Ilofa Grammar School, Ilofa respectively in then Ekiti LGA, Kwara State.
Engr Adebayo started his Tertiary Education at Kwara State Polytechnic with National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 1992 and moved on to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State where he obtained Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1998.
He was posted to Ekiti State for the compulsory National Youth Service Corp. His place of primary assignment was National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), District Office, Ado-Ekiti where, he was deployed to Distribution Department and actively participated in many projects (installation of both power and distribution transformers, faults identification and clearing).
His Engineering Working Experience started in 1999. Between 1999 and now, Engr. Adebayo has worked with different Engineering companies including an Oil Servicing Company (a Contracting Company with Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, ChevronTexaco & Shell Petroleum Development Company).
Engr. Joseph Sunday Adebayo was employed as a Safety Electrical Engineer by Boab Nigeria Limited (Lightning Eliminators & Construction Engineering, the then Sole Representative in oil and gas industries of LEC, Colorado, USA in Nigeria) in January, 2001 to December, 2004. His work with the company took him to many places where installation of LEC-DAS lightning protection system were carried out for many oil, gas and telecommunication industries. These includes: ExxonMobil off-shores and on-shores and Bonny Island, ChevronTexaco off-shores and on-shores and Escravos Terminal, Shell Forcado island, NNPC and its subsidiaries such as NGC locations, PPMC locations NNPDC and NEPA Egbin.
Engr. Adebayo also worked as a Project Engineer with West of Mines Limited (Miners, Engineers, Consultants & General Merchadants providing consultancy services to Boab Nigeria limited, from January 2005 to September 2008. In addition to the consultancy services provided by this company, they also goes in to installation of distribution transformers, generators, construction of both LT and HT, street lights and various types of CTS and ESE lightning protection systems.
Engr. Joseph Sunday Adebayo currently works in the Electrical Unit, Works Department, of University of Ilorin as Chief Electrical Engineer since October, 2016. He has since played prominent roles in the facilities maintenance of the University and her developmental projects and he has headed the Unit at different times since October, 2008 to date.
Engr. Joseph Sunday Adebayo's NSE activities kickstarted in the year 2000 and he is still very much actively involved in the activities of the Society both at the Branch and National level till date.
He became a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in November, 2004 and have been serving at the Executive Council of NSE Ilorin Branch in various capacities: Asst. General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice-Chairman, all for two years duration except for his reign as the Financial Secretary which lasted a year.
Engr. J.S. Adebayo also served as the Harmony 2012 LOC Treasurer, Committee and Sub-Committee Member for the National Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, tagged Harmony 2012.
He served as the Chairman of at least three Committees and as a Member of some other Committees during the 2013 and 2014 Branch Financial years. He was the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers Ilorin Branch in the year 2013 & 2014.
Aside the NSE, he is also a COREN registered Engineer and a active member of The Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Engr. Joseph Sunday Adebayo is the Immediate Past Chairman of NIEEE Ilorin Chapter and presently a Member of Executive Committee of the Chapter as Ex-Officio.
Engr. Adebayo became a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) in October, 2016.
J.S. Adebayo has served the Branch for many years as an Associate Examiner (Electrical/Electronics).
At the National level, he was a Member of the Examination Committee for 2014 and 2015 and also served as a Member of Sub-Committee of the Examination Committee. and currently serving as Marker and Supervisor for National NSE Corporate Exams.
Engr. Joseph Sunday Adebayo, FNIEEE, MNSE, is married and blessed with Children.
