Engineering Community Mourns as respected and distinguished Engr Ibrahim Khalil Inuwa dies

Death has been announced of one of the finest and respected engineers in Nigeria in person of Engr. Ibrahim Khalil Inuwa, OFR, FNSE. A former President of NSE and COREN today, Monday, 11/05 /2020. Until his death he was one of the past presidents of COREN and past National President of NSE. He has since been buried according to Islamic rite. EFCC Arrests Two Chinese For Offering N100m Bribe To Its Top Officer

The Sokoto Zonal Office of the EFCC, has arrested two Chinese: Mr. Meng Wei Kun and Mr. Xu Koi for offering a sum of N50,000,000 as bribe to its Zonal Head, Mr. Abdullahi Lawal. The suspects were arrested on Monday, May 11, 2020 in Sokoto. The bribe was allegedly offered in a desperate bid to compromise ongoing investigations of a construction company, China Zhonghao Nig. Ltd, handling contracts awarded by the Zamfara State Government in the sum of N50,000,000,000.00 (Fifty Billion Naira) between 2012 to 2019. NNPC records N211bn from petroleum products sales in February Published

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Tuesday announced that its downstream subsidiary company in charge of bulk sales and distribution of petroleum products, Petroleum Products Marketing Company, recorded ₦211.62bn sale of white products in February 2020. NNPC’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Kennie Obateru, explained that the figure contained in the corporation’s February 2020 Monthly Financial and Operations Report was significantly higher compared to the previous month’s record which stood at ₦151.79bn. The report showed an increased trading surplus of ₦3.95bn garnered by the corporation in February 2020, when compared to the ₦1.87bn surplus that was posted in January 2020. The 111 per cent growth in the month, the report stated, was largely attributable to improved performance of the Nigerian Gas Company as a result of its low expenses. APPLICATION FOR ACCREDITATION OF CENTRES FOR MINIMUM INDUSTRY SAFETY TRAINING FOR DOWNSTREAM OPERATIONS (MISTDO) (A) INTRODUCTION The Minimum Industry Safety Training for Downstream Operations (MISTDO) program is designed to enhance safety training and competence of personnel engaged in the Downstream sector (including petroleum haulage drivers and assistants) possess the basic knowledge of the risk associated with their respective roles. It is also a platform to effectively monitor and coordinate basic safety training activities in the downstream sector. Based on the above, the Department of Petroleum Resources, the Petroleum Regulatory Agency of Nigeria, invites applications for accreditation from interested, competent and reputable companies who wish to establish MISTDO Safety Training Centres. All applications should be made on the Department's Oil and Gas Industry Service Permit (OGISP) portal by selecting MISTDO Permit under the Specialized Category. (B) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
