NSE Ikeja Branch Engineering Week Day 2: Engineers Guide toward Entrepreneurship and self reliance

 The  Nigerian Society of engineers Ikeja Branch Annual Engineering Week enters it second day on Tuesday with Lonadek Consulting Limited hosting the career engagement session at the Cedar Entrepreneurship Centre, jibowu. 

The Career Engagement Session for students of Technical Colleges was packaged as an essential avenue to offer professional guide to technical and vocational students and encourage them to remain focused in their field of study. It also aimed at exposing them to varying options of progress available beyond this level as well as opportunities abounding in entrepreneurship pursuit.

For those who seek to further their studies, we brought in the Dean, School of Engineering, YabaTech, who engaged them on how to advance their career.  While those interested in working for organisations were given career counselling tips by Lonadek Consulting HR. Those interested in running their own business after acquiring skills in the technical college, Lonadek facilitated a Fidelity Bank official who talked to them about MSME and process toward funding their projects.

It was indeed an all-encompassing session which was spiced by a presentation on the " WINNING ATTITUDE." The speakers outlined the requisite characters and attitudes needed for accomplishment of any form.  Outside the boundaries of knowledge and certification, who you are is an essential traits that take you beyond where you are.

In all, it was a robust session that inspired and prepared the students for a future of success in Engineering practice in particular & life in general.

Today, Wednesday the train moves to Ralph Alabi Engineering Centre as we celebrate our youths through the : Innovation Fair/Exhibition slated" as part of the NSE Ikeja 2016 Engineering Week will have students of Government Technical College exhibiting engineering projects as well as FESTO Automation exhibiting new innovative products. It promises to be eye-opening, taking place at the NSE-IKEJA SECRETARIAT from 10am.
