Desirous of restoring the glory of engineering profession, the Chairman of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Apapa Branch, Engr Ombugadu Garba has reinstated the commitment of the society to upholding high standards of engineering practice in the country.
He stated this during a visit to Lotus Plastics Limited, in Agbara, Ogun State. Garba who led a team of engineers to the company said the visit was one of the society’s core values.
According to him, the current NSE President, Otis Anyaeji is committed to ensuring that high standards of engineering practice in Nigeria are sustained.
He said: “ one of the ways to do this is by taking frequent visits to industries to observe firsthand what they are doing. “To see whether what they are doing is in compliance with engineering standards. Where they have fallen short, we advise them as professional colleagues and see how they can improve.
“If they have any challenges with their operations or products, maybe equipment breakdown or challenges designing a new model, we can come in to help them and see how we can make our input.”
